Anna Lindh Foundation: €1.35 million call for projects to promote Intercultural Dialogue
The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) has launched a Call for Project Proposals for 2012 worth a total of €1.35 million, aimed at supporting projects that promote the mobilisation and empowerment of civil society. Around 50 projects are expected to be awarded through this call.

A press release said the call was in line with the Anna Lindh Foundation’s ‘4D’ Strategy, which conceives Intercultural Dialogue as a civil society mobilisation factor, aimed at valuing Diversity, promoting the participation of the society in building open and plural Democracies, and fostering inclusive and sustainable human Development.

The overall financial envelope for this Call for Proposals is €1,350,000, with:
  • Minimum grants available at €20,000
  • Maximum grant available at €35,000
The Anna Lindh Foundation financial support will not exceed 80% of the total eligible costs of the project.

The Arab Documentary Film Program (ADFP) is currently accepting applications for its third call for submissions
The Arab Documentary Film Program (ADFP), a partnership with the Sundance Institute, aims to be a launch pad for documentary filmmakers, providing them with the financial and professional resources to create influential work that is globally recognized. 
During each cycle of the ADFP, around 15 feature-length documentary projects in thescript/development (up to US$15,000 per project)and production/post-production (up to US$50,000 per project) stages are awarded grants worth up to $500,000. In addition to providing direct funding, Sundance and AFAC cooperate with renowned international festivals or institutions to bring together grantees with experts and industry professionals to provide tailored support, consultation and networking opportunities.

Open Call for Dragon Forum Pitching
The documentary film pitching forum Dragon Forum, held 30 May - 3 June 2012 during the 52nd Krakow Film Festival, Poland, is accepting applications through 26 April.
Participants can be from all over the world, including South Mediterranean partners.
The selected projects will be announced on 9 May.
Participants will present projects to international TV commissioning editors, regional film fund representative, distributors and producers from around the world.

Women in Film Foundation accepting grant applications

The Women in Film Foundation is taking applications for its 27th annual Film Finishing Fund until May 18. Grants up to $15,000 will support films by, for and about women.

The program aids filmmakers around the world working in all genres for short and long formats. There will also be in-kind services for post including online editing and sound mixing.

Doc filmmakers must be finished with principal photography and a rough cut to be eligible. For narratives, 90% of principal photography must be completed, and there must be a rough cut. WIF members pay a reduced application fee.

The fund was created in 1985. Previous FFF recipients include "Circumstance," which won the Audience Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival

L'Atelier de la CINEFONDATION, CANNES 2012

Depuis sa création en 2005, L’Atelier de la Cinéfondation encourage le cinéma de création et favorise l’émergence d’une nouvelle génération de cinéastes originaires du monde entier. 115 réalisateurs en ont ainsi bénéficié, 72 films ont été réalisés et 20 sont actuellement en pré production. En 2012, L’Atelier a sélectionné 15 projets venus de 14 pays pour leur qualité artistique et l’originalité de leur propos. Les réalisateurs participeront avec leurs producteurs au Festival de Cannes, où des rendez-vous individuels seront organisés du 18 au 25 mai avec tous les professionnels intéressés par leur projet et susceptibles de compléter le financement de leur film.
